According to the post, the process involved “the physical clamping of her neck and doctors drilling three holes into her head.”
As can be imagined, this led to the frequent seizing of Sarah’s neck, as well as an avalanche of side effects.
Somehow, Sarah has remained a passionate and dedicated photographer in the face of blinding migraines, loss of vision, and light sensitivity.
Her work has been featured in the New York Times, and she has received a highly selective grant from National Geographic. However, as a freelancer, Sarah does not have included benefits, and the government will not support her with disability payments.
She has also undergone another financial setback that interferes with her ability to work; “her computer, without which she cannot edit photos or take on assignments, has broken down,” the GoFundMe’s creator shared.
