Mattel Partnered With NASA And Sent Two Barbies To Space On Mission DreamStar To Inspire Young Girls In STEM

Lisa McKnight, the executive vice president and global head of Barbie and dolls at Mattel, explained why 2022 was the perfect time for a real-life space launch.

“The idea of Barbie going to space has been on the top of minds for a while! And with the launch of our Space Discovery line at Target, this year presented the perfect opportunity to create this milestone moment and finally send Barbie to space and the ISS,” McKnight said.

So, along with the educational content rollout, girls everywhere can now learn alongside their new Space Discovery edition dolls.

This particular doll and playset bundle underscores how learning about space in the classroom should be a fun and welcoming experience for all young women.
