Still, though, he was really angry. They both knew that predators were lurking, and he hated that his children had to see the innocent animal being carried away by a hawk.
Plus, his kids have been furious for days. They locked themselves in their rooms and refused to talk to their mother. Plus, whenever she does try to talk to them, they just call her “the bunny killer.”
So, he has pretty much just been stuck in the middle. He has tried to mediate the situation between his kids and his wife, but honestly, he is still quite furious with his wife, too.
At the same time, though, she is angry with him for not having her back. She apparently said that, as husband and wife, they are always supposed to support each other.
Once he heard this, though, he brought up a bunch of times in the past where she didn’t have his back. This upset her more and even made her cry before she shut herself in their bedroom, too.
In turn, he is not sure what the heck to do. On the one hand, he is pretty upset that his wife directly went against his instructions and practically put a target on the little bunny’s back. But, on the other hand, he realizes that his wife is right about spouses having each other’s back.
