She Rehomed Her Late Son’s Puppy To A Coworker Instead Of Giving The Pup To His Girlfriend, And Now His Girlfriend Is Furious

“It’s not like the dog will never be seen again by this family,” she added.

Well, there was one hitch in the plan. His son actually had a girlfriend before he passed away, and after the girlfriend learned that the puppy had been rehomed, she was seriously upset.

In fact, her son’s girlfriend told her that her son would have never approved of this arrangement. The girlfriend also claimed to be “like a mother” to the dog and claimed that the puppy would be lost without her.

According to her, her son’s girlfriend also used some pretty harsh words during their conversation and said that she should have been offered the dog first.

Now, she does want to make it clear that her son and girlfriend did not live together at her house. So, it was not like she snatched away pups away from their sole caretakers. Instead, she actually pointed out how her son and girlfriend rarely ever spent any time together at her house.

“I was with the dogs every day and more involved in their lives,” she said.

On top of that, she claims that her son’s girlfriend has been a wreck since his passing and honestly believed that throwing a needy puppy into the mix would just push her over the edge.

Finally, according to her, the possibility of rehoming the puppy had been discussed before with her son’s girlfriend.

“But I guess she did not take me seriously,” she vented.

Anyway, with her son’s girlfriend now really distraught over the pup, she has been left wondering if rehoming one of her late son’s dogs without asking his girlfriend first makes her a total jerk.

If her son lived with her, and she primarily took care of the dogs anyway, is his girlfriend entitled to the dog? Would it still have been nice to offer the dogs to his girlfriend before choosing a coworker? Does it make sense why she went with her coworker? At the same time, is it understandable why her son’s girlfriend is upset?
