She Was Responsible For Bringing A Cake To Her Ex-Best Friend’s Wedding, But After She Was Disinvited From The Event, She Cancelled The Cake Order, And Now The Bride Is Furious

This woman’s best friend– well, ex-best friend– just got married this past Saturday. And originally, she was supposed to be the maid of honor at the event.
However, she claims to work a job that requires her to drop everything and head into the office at the drop of a hat.
So, after she was forced to leave during a few wedding planning meetings, her friend started to get pretty upset.
At one point, she also requested to style her hair and makeup a bit differently and was met with more pushback from the bride.
Eventually, her friend ended up just removing her from the wedding due to the makeup and hair issues, as well as her “disinterest in the wedding.”
Still, she claims that her friend only uninvited her from the event altogether after she shared her side of the story with some friends.
Anyway, she was initially responsible for getting her friend’s wedding cake. In fact, she actually took on this responsibility after seeing how stressed out her friend had been with the rest of the wedding planning.
“So, I offered to help with some things, I booked the cake under my name, and I still had a different gift for them,” she explained.
Once she was uninvited, though, she obviously did not want to be in charge of that anymore. In turn, she reportedly told the bride, “do not expect me to supply you with a cake,” about two days before the event.

“I wanted to be reimbursed for all of my investments in this wedding,” she added.
It appears that her friend misunderstood what she was saying, though, because her friend’s new maid of honor actually showed up at the bakery to pick up the cake.
And it was at that moment that the new maid of honor– and her ex-best friend– found out that she had canceled the cake order.
Despite the time crunch, her ex-best friend was still able to get another cake– even though she claims that the dessert was reportedly not as nice as the original cake.
So now, she has been getting a lot of pushback from the bride, the groom, and her sister, who still attended the wedding.
Apparently, her sister claimed that it was really unfair of her to cancel the cake and believes that she should have just let her ex-best friend and fiancé “enjoy their special day.”
Then, she could have discussed getting her money back for the cake afterward.
Her ex-best friend has also since referred to the cake as her wedding gift and is claiming that a gift cannot be returned.
“And the groom just agrees with literally anything his precious wife says,” she vented.
As she said, though, the cake was never supposed to be her wedding gift.
Instead, it was just a kind gesture to help out when she realized that her friend was struggling– and she even bought an entirely separate present for the bride and groom.
Still, ever since being villainized by the bride, groom, and her sister, she has been left wondering if canceling the cake order for a wedding she was uninvited from makes her a jerk or not.
If you disinvite someone from your wedding, should they still be expected to give you a gift or help out with any wedding responsibilities? Do you believe she gave the bride adequate notice about the wedding cake being canceled? If you were in her shoes, would you have handled this situation differently?
