These totally irresistible heart-shaped churros are the best way to express your love for a friend, family member, or significant other. Or you can just gift them to yourself. What better way is there to show yourself some love?

TikToker @moribyan has an excellent recipe for heart-shaped churros that you can make for Valentine’s Day.

“This Valentine’s Day, skip the flowers and the chocolates and make these heart-shaped churros instead. And you don’t need someone special to make these for. That just means more churros for you!” she began.

Let’s dive into her easy-to-follow recipe! Here’s what you’ll need.

Ingredients:

-1/2 cup of sugar

-1 teaspoon of cinnamon

-1 cup of water

-1 1/2 tablespoons of sugar

-6 tablespoons of unsalted butter, cubed

-1/4 teaspoon of salt

-1 cup of flour

-2 eggs

-Vegetable oil for frying

Directions:

In a small bowl, whisk together half a cup of sugar and a teaspoon of cinnamon. Set the cinnamon sugar mixture aside while you work on the dough for the churros. Next, grab a pot and add the water, sugar, unsalted butter, and salt. Pop it onto the stove over medium to high heat and bring it to a boil. After it boils, drop it to low heat and add the flour.

Mix the dough with a rubber spatula until there are no more clumps remaining. Allow the dough to cool for at least eight minutes, then add in one egg at a time. The dough should be elastic and have a slightly sticky consistency.

Next, cut a sheet of parchment paper into squares, spray them with oil, and pipe the dough into the shape of hearts. Then, fry the heart-shaped churros on both sides until they reach a golden brown perfection. Lastly, toss the churros into the cinnamon sugar mixture and serve them with some caramel or chocolate sauce. It is really that simple to make tasty churros!
