He understands that Emily is most likely scared and stressed out but feels that she’s been condescending.

Since having their conversation about the delivery room, he’s been sulking around their home, trying to process the bad news, which has made Emily very angry. 

Then, Emily had an outburst and asked him if he would act that way in front of their son. She also told him he needed to “be a man” and get over it. At that moment, he wanted to cry. 

“I love her so much, but what she said really hit me hard,” he explained. “I just want them both to be healthy and safe, but I also wanted to be there.”
