Yet despite that, Brigitte would not stop repeating the same phrase every time she saw the groomsmen or her bridesmaids.
That’s why everyone started to get pretty fed up with the bride-to-be. And in the process, the groomsmen and bridesmaids even came up with a few inside jokes about the situation.
While most of the jokes are harmless, though, he believes that one may go just a bit too far.
For context, before the wedding, one of the groomsmen decided to buy the cheapest set of 25 toy engagement rings that he could find. Afterward, each groomsman was provided with five of those toy rings– meaning that one could be given to each bridesmaid.
Finally, they formed an agreement that even the bridesmaids got on board with.
“They are THAT fed up,” he said.
Anyway, the agreement all hinged on Brigitte. If she mentioned the “no proposal” rule ten times on her wedding day, the groomsmen all planned to get down on one knee and propose to each of the bridesmaids right on the spot.
Ever since everyone agreed to move forward with this “joke,” though, he has started to have second thoughts. So now, he’s been left wondering whether going through with the plan would actually make him and everyone else real jerks.
Isn’t it obvious that the idea of a guest proposing at Brigitte’s wedding is actually something she is genuinely stressed out about? Shouldn’t they be there for her since she is the bride, rather than joking behind her back? If everyone was really annoyed, couldn’t they just talk to Brigitte about it like adults?
