This 30-year-old woman was supposed to tie the knot with her fiancé, who is 32, this past Sunday. But, after she couldn’t locate a really sentimental garment on her big day, she actually fled the ceremony.

Now, for context, she and her fiancé were expecting a baby girl. And had things gone according to plan, her daughter would have been 3-months-old now.

However, when she was 32 weeks pregnant, she tragically had a stillbirth. So, she was understandably devastated and honestly wanted to just postpone the wedding.

No one else in her family agreed with her, though. Instead, they all claimed that by tying the knot, she and her fiancé would be ending a terribly dark chapter of their lives on a “beautiful note.”

“That by continuing to get married as planned, it would help us heal and move on,” she added.

So, she wound up agreeing to move forward with their wedding. However, she just had one condition.

Before her stillbirth, she had planned to walk down the aisle holding her newborn daughter. And her daughter was supposed to wear a beautiful dress that she specially made for the occasion.

Given that her daughter could not be with her on her wedding day anymore, though, she still wanted to carry a piece of her baby with her. More specifically, her condition was that she would carry her late daughter’s dress with her as she walked down the aisle.

Now, after she revealed this plan, she detailed how countless people– from her fiancé to her own mom– found the idea really creepy and morbid. They even claimed that she was trying to make a joyous and happy occasion all about her and her grief.

She still stood her ground, though. And after some time passed, her family members just stopped talking about the dress and her condition.

“I had hoped people had forgotten,” she recalled. “Obviously, they hadn’t.”

On the day before her wedding, she arrived at a country cottage where she was staying. And at the time, she had both her wedding dress and her daughter’s dress in tow.

So, she placed them both into her closet before going downstairs to meet up with her family members– who were staying at the cottage that evening, too.

Anyway, once she later arrived back at her room, she realized the closet door had been opened. And after she peeked inside, she found that her daughter’s dress was missing.

Now, since her family and her fiancé’s family were the only people staying at the cottage– and absolutely nothing else from her room had been taken– she immediately assumed one of them had stolen the dress.

After confronting everybody, though, no one ever admitted to being the culprit. So, throughout that evening, she kept begging her fiancé, her mother, and her future in-laws to postpone and reschedule the wedding– because after what happened to the dress, she simply was not ready anymore.

Her wishes did not go over well with her family, though, and only resulted in more fighting.

That’s why, by the next morning, everyone– including herself– was just angry and miserable. Due to this, none of her family members even wanted to be around her.

So, after her makeup artist and hairstylist went to get some coffee, she decided to follow suit. In fact, she simply left and traveled back home.

Well, she didn’t end up going to her own house. Instead, she went to her best friend’s house and has been staying there ever since– because apparently, the nasty voicemails and text messages she has been receiving from her family have made her want to throw up. Even her fiancé accused her of ruining everything by leaving over “a stupid dress.”

In the days since then, though, her fiancé did end up asking to speak with her in person. And obviously, she wants to do that.

But, at the same time, she is also terrified about how the conversation might go down.

“He has left me so many truly awful voicemails and texts this last day or so, and I’m a little scared that he’s just going to scream at me again,” she admitted.

So now, she really is not sure how to face her fiancé after fleeing their wedding over her daughter’s lost dress.

Can you understand why she wanted to postpone the wedding after the stillbirth? Why do you think her family pressured her to tie the knot? Did she have a right to include her late daughter on her wedding day if she wanted to? If you realized someone went behind your back like that, would you have left the wedding, too?
