Her Ex-Husband Posted On Social Media That She Allows Their Teen Daughter Look Like A Bum

It’s extremely common for parents that have split up to argue about certain things involving their children, and it’s easy to get caught up in who seems like the better parent.
But when it comes to things like your kid’s personal hygiene, your kid’s best interests need to come first.
One woman is very angry with her ex after he wouldn’t get the proper products to help their daughter care for her hair.
She and her husband have a 16-year-old daughter named Brooke. Brooke is mixed race as she’s black, and her ex-husband is white. She split from her ex-husband 10 years ago, but they’re still in touch because they co-parent Brooke.
“Brooke has always had trouble with styling her hair, so she kept it fairly short,” she explained.
“A couple years ago, I heard about the curly girl method, and since using some of those principles, Brooke was able to get her hair styled properly and make it look good, so she’s grown it out since then.”
In order for Brooke to maintain her longer hairstyle, she needs a lot of high-quality products and dedicates a lot of time to taking care of it each day.
She always does her best to accommodate Brooke and get her the products she needs, but her ex-husband is a different story.
He doesn’t like spending a lot of money on hair products and doesn’t have them whenever Brooke stays at his house.

Usually, the lack of hair products at her ex’s house hasn’t been a big deal, as Brooke usually only stays there on alternating weekends.
But recently, Brooke stayed with him for two weeks, and things got really bad without her hair products.
“Nearing the end of the 2 weeks, he texted me and asked for permission to cut her hair short,” she remembered.
“I was confused because she never indicated wanting to do that, so I asked him why. He said that her hair looked awful, and she was refusing to take care of it, wash it, or use any products in it.”
When she asked him to send her a picture of the hair products he had in his house, he sent her pictures of generic brand products that would never be a good fit for her hair care.
Her ex also mentioned that he told Brooke to try brushing her hair, which made the situation even worse.
She was so fed up with her ex-husband’s incompetence that she called him a name over the phone. She went off on a rant and explained to him that the cheap products he insisted on using fry Brooke’s hair and that brushing it makes no sense because it makes her hair look good.
Then, she gave him an exact list of the hair products Brooke uses at his house, but he still refused to buy them.
He told her that Brooke should cut her hair short again because it was the only length she could handle.
To make matters worse, her ex publicly posted on Facebook about how she enables her daughter to “look like a bum” and doesn’t let him fix the problem.
“A lot of his family and some of my family that still keep in touch with him told me that I needed to accept that she is his daughter too, and he gets a say in things,” she recalled.
“I’m sticking by my choice, and I’m not going to let him cut Brooke’s hair off unless she tells me that’s what she wants to do.”
Should she let her ex-husband cut Brooke’s hair as a temporary solution, or should she stand her ground?
