“He resigned because he has felt for several years beleaguered by members of his family, who have attacked him on several fronts, not only regarding LMVH,” said a spokesperson for Puech. “He has had some bad experiences and felt very badly and felt harshly criticized on numerous occasions, even while he is very attached to Hermès.”
Puech’s unconventional plan faces several challenges. For one, an adult adoption is a rare occurrence, often requiring a prior relationship with the adoptee during their minor years for the adoption to be successful.
In addition, Puech had previously agreed to pass his fortune on to the Isocrates Foundation, which he established in 2011. The foundation funds investigative public-interest journalism and combats misinformation.
