Archaeologists In The Czech Republic Recently Unearthed A 1,000-Year-Old Ice Skate Made From Animal Bone

While the discovery is certainly spectacular, it is by no means rare. Similar finds, such as ice skates made of cattle or horse bones, have been uncovered throughout other parts of Europe.

For instance, nearly identical skates were previously found in Birka, a famous archaeological site in Sweden from the Viking Age, as well as in York, England, and Dublin, Ireland.
