When this 25-year-old woman was a child, a ghost haunted her family’s house. The ghost enjoyed the game of peek-a-boo and seemed to get a kick of out of playing pranks. She was 4 when she saw the ghost for the first time.

One day, her father and dog were playing in the backyard, and while in the house, she looked out the window facing the yard and watched them.

She glanced away from the window for a second, and when she glanced back at the window, she saw the ghost.

It was a ghost of a man who glanced right at her for a second, and she was fully aware that he acknowledged she could see him.

She squeezed her eyes shut, and when she opened them, he’d disappeared. The ghost appeared to be a man in his 60s, and she thought he reminded her of a grandfather.

“He was bald and had this weird glow about him. The next time I saw him, I was walking past a window again, and he popped up, covering his eyes, playing a game of peek-a-boo,” she said.

She was scared, which made the ghost laugh, but it was odd because she couldn’t hear his laugh. Even though she could see him visibly shaking and doubled over in hysterical laughter, no sound came out.

As she continued seeing the ghost, she played peek-a-boo with him. Every time she’d uncover and open her eyes, he’d disappear.

Her parents put a nightlight in her bedroom so that the room was lit up for them when they periodically checked on her during the night.

One night, she couldn’t fall asleep. She tossed and turned and eventually sat up in the bed, only to discover that the ghost was in her room. He stood in the corner, frozen.

The ghost’s glow was brighter than her nightlight, and she was able to see him more clearly on this occasion.

She thought he looked like Uncle Fester from The Addam’s Family, but he didn’t have dark circles under his eyes like the character usually had.

“He just stood there, watching me. He moved his mouth as if he was talking, but I remember not being able to hear him. He then made a face and vanished again,” she explained.

While she never saw this ghost again after that night, something creepy seemed to replace the ghost.

She started having a recurring nightmare for several years. She still occasionally has the same nightmare to this day.

In the dream, she is a dad, racing away from something through a forest while carrying her baby. She’s attempting to enter a house, and every time she has the dream, she nearly reaches the backdoor but never makes her way through it.

Before reaching the door, whatever entity was chasing her would catch her. The image would fade to black, and she’d awaken in anxious terror.

Eventually, she and her family moved to a new house, but the nightmares continued. At 8-years-old, another scary situation began.

She assumed a new ghost was haunting her, but it wasn’t a friendly ghost like the previous one. Initially, it didn’t seem evil, but over time, it didn’t seem kind.

“It would stand in the shadows, never fully showing itself. It was like a mist rather than an image. It didn’t bother me at first, but then I got a cat. Suddenly, I woke up with scratch marks on my body. My cat would be sleeping peacefully next to me,” she shared.

She constantly awoke to find scratch marks all over her for two years. After dealing with the strange situation for so long and struggling to sleep because of her fear, she got sick of it. One night, she stared right at the ghost and ordered him to go away and leave her be.

While she had no idea why, doing this angered her cat, who hopped off her bed and started growling, which she’d never done before.

Her cat started to hiss and spit at something under the bed. Horrified, she dove under the blankets and again demanded that the ghost go away.

Suddenly, it sounded as if someone was stomping and scratching at her closet door. Her cat quit growling and hissing and hopped back onto the bed. Since that night, her cat has never acted like that again.

After hearing the creepy noises, she tried to be brave, got out of bed, and turned her bedroom light on.

She discovered a huge scratch mark high up on her closet door. When she attempted to stand on her tiptoes and jump to reach the scratch mark, she couldn’t.

Her nails weren’t long or strong enough to make deep scratch marks like that, and since she wasn’t tall enough to reach the scratch marks, there was no way she was the culprit.

After testing it out, she realized her cat couldn’t have made the marks, either. To this day, the scratch mark is still on the closet door, and she still can’t reach it as an adult. Luckily, the ghost didn’t bother her after that night.
