She Posted Her Engagement Ring On TikTok And Received Loads Of Hate– Spurring A Conversation About Sharing Charity Work Online And When To Keep Your Opinions To Yourself

“Besides that, I would never normally say this because it sounds so tacky,” Stella went on, “But a friend of ours is actually an investor in Kwiat, so we were able to buy this ring at cost.” Stella detailed how she even went to three different jewelers in the Diamond District and received a quote for the exact same ring. Each one of them quoted Stella between eighteen and twenty-seven thousand dollars more than she paid.

Stella also felt the need to explain why she was even opening up about pricing on her TikTok account in the first place.

“Recently, many more comments than usual have been stating their opinion about how I spend money. I totally understand where that is coming from, I really do, but guys, it is really rude and not your place,” Stella said, “I try to be very honest and transparent on this account while I share my life, and everyone normally likes when I share the fun luxuries.”

She also disclosed that she does not discuss charity work on her platform for two reasons.

“First, I think that it is very condescending to the people who I have been fortunate enough to help to come on here and speak about their struggles in order to get clout,” Stella said, “And I also think that it comes across as very self-aggrandizing and uncharitable to talk into your phone and tell hundreds of thousands of people about all of the good work you are doing.”

Stella concludes the video by saying that yes, she may spend her money differently than others would.

But, everyone has different priorities, preferences and financial situations. She also really believes that it is not anyone’s place to comment on other people’s decisions regardless.

“Unless you have spent every single extra penny that you have had to help other people, then I do not personally think you have a leg to stand on. And I am kind of over it,” Stella said.

The comments on Stella’s follow-up video were this time, very accepting of her viewpoint.

“You don’t seem to take your life and all the fun luxury that it entails for granted. If anything, your energy is very ‘pinch me’ and thankful. It’s fun!” commented one user.

“You expressed my feelings about people talking about their charity work online so well. It’s so uncomfortable. I love your content!” commented another user.
