This Man Fell Off His Boat And Into The Pacific Ocean: He Miraculously Survived After Swimming For 5 Grueling Hours

“It’s truly a miracle that he was able to survive all of the elements and the cold Pacific Ocean for that many hours,” writes Rose Brown.

After being rescued, Thompson arrived at a hospital with hypothermia and rhabdomyolysis. He was also suffering from dehydration and was covered in cuts and bruises, which he sustained from muscles and barnacles that were attached to the oil platform he climbed onto.

Thompson is now safe at home with his family, feeling “sore, exhausted, humbled, grateful, and just so happy to be alive,” according to Rose Brown.

Brown and other family friends have created a GoFundMe to assist Thompson in repairing his boat after it was eventually found on a rocky beach with serious damage. Any funds raised will go towards the boat repairs, and offsetting the work time that Thompson will lose and his medical bills.
