Hairdressers Are Being Encouraged To Join This Program Which Will Help Them Spot Skin Cancer On Their Clients

A is for age. Skin cancer is most commonly found in older adults. I is for irregularity. Does this lesion look abnormal? R is for region.

It’s important to note where the lesion is located and if it lives in a sun-exposed area.

Lastly, S stands for the surface. Hairstylists will need to determine if the skin around the detected spot is crusty or scaly.

Your local barbershops and hairdressers that partake in this program will have business cards on hand, where they will write down the date of your appointment, the location of the concerned area, and comments on the appearance.

Cancer is a scary disease that, if left untreated, can spread rapidly.  It’s important to stay informed and protected.
