After A Couple Became Stranded And Separated In A Northern California Snow Storm, This Woman Survived On Only Yogurt For Six Days

“Initially, details of this incident were unclear and made it difficult for Sheriff’s Office personnel to narrow down a search area,” the press release said.

In fact, Justin had very little knowledge of the pair’s travels and where Sheena could have possibly gone missing.

As a result, a team of Sheriff’s deputies, sergeants, detectives, and US Forest Service personnel conducted widespread ground searches throughout Lassen County.

Still, despite the search party’s strong efforts, Sheena was not immediately discovered. It took officials until Wednesday, April 20th– a full six days– for the couple’s vehicle and Sheena to be found.

“At around 3:00 p.m., after searching for several hours, the Sheriff’s sergeant located the vehicle. Immediately upon his arrival, Sheena came out of the vehicle,” the press release reported.

Thankfully, Sheena was “physically okay.” Nonetheless, she was also understandably “very emotional.”

Sheena also shared how she amazingly survived the six days by rationing a six-pack of yogurt. She ate one yogurt cup per day and, left without water, also resorted to eating snow.

“The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office Command Staff commends the efforts of all personnel involved in searching for and locating Sheena. Through their efforts, Sheena was found safe and is now back home,” the press release added.

The Sheriff’s Office has since shared the press release on Facebook, and the post garnered many shocked and thankful reactions.

“WOW!!! Good job! I was not expecting that ending. Good thinking Sheena and everyone involved,” commented one user.

“Great ending to a tragic story. It could have been so much worse,” agreed a second commenter.
