She Won’t Participate In Her Stepmother’s Wedding Tradition Because She Does Not Want To Share Her Mother’s Necklace With Her Stepsister And Half-Sister

“I told him no, that I have a mom, and that her being dead doesn’t change that or mean I need to see someone else as my mom, too,” she vented.

Her stepmother just did not get it, though, and claimed that she was acting like a total jerk for rejecting them as her family– especially after her stepmother embraced her as a “true daughter.”

So now, even though the tradition really is not important to her, she has been left wondering if refusing to keep it going would be a really rude thing to do to her stepmother, stepsister, and half-sister.

Do you believe she has an obligation to keep the family tradition going? Does it make sense why she would want to keep that piece of her mother all to herself? If you were in her shoes, what would you decide to do?
