His mom had repeatedly asked his daughter to take the garbage out, and she didn’t listen. Then, his mom threatened to take away her phone, but his daughter had an attitude and said she didn’t care.
Finally, his mom noticed how much of an attachment she had to the pink bunny, so she took away her phone and the bunny as a form of punishment.
As a result, his daughter had a panic attack.
“She was very upset and anxious when I came home,” he recalled. “I tried asking her what’s wrong, but she wouldn’t talk to me. When I asked my mom, she told me. I told her to give me the stuffed animal. I gave it to my daughter, and after a little bit, she calmed down enough and fell asleep.”
He acknowledged that how his daughter behaved wasn’t right, but he was very disappointed in how his mom handled the situation.
When he explained how he felt to his mom, she got angry and said his daughter shouldn’t have that kind of attachment to a stuffed animal. She also said that he’s setting his daughter up for failure by enabling her behavior.
Is his mother right, or was she being way too hard on her granddaughter?
