Upon returning to the hotel, she noticed that the gem was missing. Believing that it had been stolen by an employee at the hotel, she notified authorities. Search parties were employed right away to conduct the necessary investigations.
Two days later, the ring resurfaced. It was found in a vacuum cleaner bag, and its disappearance was declared unrelated to theft.
“Our client is happy with this news. We would like to thank the Ritz Paris employees who were involved in this research and who work every day with integrity and professionalism,” said the hotel, per an English translation.
The Ritz also offered the woman three free nights at the hotel on her next visit to Paris as an apology for the inconvenience, but she declined.
