Michelle Dunlap-Smith was a 51-year-old sister and daughter living in LaGrange, Georgia, in 2022. But, in May of that year, she vanished after walking away from a medical center and was never seen or heard from again.

The tragedy occurred on May 26, 2022, when Michelle visited the Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center. There, she reportedly received medical attention because she was experiencing alcohol withdrawals.

Afterward, Michelle was last seen leaving the medical center at about 11:00 p.m., and she never returned home.

The following day, her loved ones contacted the LaGrange Police Department to report her missing, but the search for Michelle has not been very fruitful.

She was captured on security cameras that evening while walking toward the back of the hospital– which was in the opposite direction of her home. However, this footage serves as the last confirmed sighting of Michelle, and no one has been able to locate her since.

Detective Amy Sweatt has been leading the investigation into Michelle’s disappearance and urging anyone with information to come forward. According to Sweatt, the LaGrange Police Department has received numerous tips regarding Michelle’s case. But unfortunately, none of these potential clues have gone anywhere.

Michelle’s sister, Cherina Jones, thinks that someone has taken Michelle– claiming her sister never would have just left on her own. So, Cherina has issued pleas begging that Michelle be released.

“Whoever got her, just let her go. It doesn’t even make any sense. I mean, she does have people that love her and miss her very, very much. If you have her, just let her go,” Cherina said.

According to Cherina, Michelle was known to be a very kind person with a loving heart. Her loved ones are also refusing to give up hope as they continue searching for answers and justice.
