Body Of College Girl Who Disappeared A Month Ago After Leaving A Friend’s Apartment Has Been Found In A River
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 26-year-old Cassandra Johnston, whom everyone affectionately called Casey, went missing nearly a month ago.
It was July 10th when Casey was last seen at 5:51 in the morning. She left her friend’s apartment on Summer and 12th in Philadelphia and got into her silver-colored 2016 Ford Focus hatchback.
Although Casey’s family reported her as missing, there was no sign of her anywhere.
Traffic cameras were checked, her bank and credit cards were monitored, and her E-ZPass was checked as well, but none of these things yielded any clues.

Casey’s loved ones even raised enough money on GoFundMe to put up multiple billboards in the Philadelphia area to bring awareness to Casey’s disappearance.
“Thank you all so very much. From the bottom of our hearts, we truly did not expect this much support to come in this fast,” Casey’s boyfriend Matt wrote on the GoFundMe page.
“We are very quickly reaching our goal to get Casey’s face up on billboards in the Greater Philadelphia area.”
“We could never have imagined how quickly we’d come to this, and we are in shock and awe at how many have come together to bring Casey home safely to us.”

Casey’s family also worked to get a private investigator on her case, and that investigator recently found her car crashed in the woods close to Woodhaven Road.
A day after Casey’s car was found, she was also located in Byberry Creek. The Philadelphia Medical Examiner has said Casey’s death was an accident after suffering from blunt impact trauma.
Authorities suspect at this time that Casey got into a car accident and perhaps was ejected from her car through her sunroof.

“Today has been a terrible nightmare,” Casey’s boyfriend Matt wrote in a Facebook post after the news of her passing.
“Nobody ever thinks that their story might have an ending that isn’t happy. Usually boy meets girls, boy and girl fall in love, happily ever after.”
“Today my happy ending was stolen from me. Today we found out that Cassandra Johnston, the brightest light on planet earth was blown out prematurely.”
“I’ve been with Casey since I was 22. I’ve had a crush on her since I was 20. I’m lucky that I ever met her, and I’m blessed to have been able to spend the last 6 years with her, by her side.”
“Like many, our relationship had its highs and lows, but the highs were always far greater than the lows, and I’m absolutely thankful to my core for the time and memories she spent and made with me.”
“That I was even good enough for her time was a miracle. I will always love Casey, now until the day I die.”
“I will miss her every day, but I will do my best to carry her memory and her bright burning light with me wherever I may go.”
“Thank you Casey for touching my life more than anyone else, and probably more than you knew. In my mind you are the one who has my heart until it stops beating.”
“I love you, truly, wholly, unendingly. I love you, Cassandra Josephine Johnston. Rest now baby, you have no struggles to worry about, I will see you again.”
