Lewy body dementia causes someone’s mind and body to deteriorate progressively, and some of the symptoms can include experiencing hallucinations and having trouble walking.
Robin greatly struggled with the health problems he was experiencing, and it ended up affecting his livelihood.
“From a neurological perspective, he didn’t feel great,” Zak continued. “There was just more anxiety and depression. Talking to me about that made me realize he was very uncomfortable.”
All of the health issues that Robin was going through only got worse as he got closer to the date on which he sadly took his own life.
Following Robin’s death, Zak himself struggled with depression, and he turned to alcohol as a way to try to cope.
He was ultimately diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and was able to get clean. Now, he advocates for mental health as a way to honor his incredible dad.
