After Financially Supporting Her College Roommate, This TikToker Learned That She Had Been Lying About Being “Broke”

“I had ten pounds. Ten pounds is enough for a chicken meal,” Meghan explained.

When the pair got to the restaurant, though, Meghan felt utterly out of place. She thought they would be going somewhere enjoyable yet affordable. Boy, was she wrong.

“I walk into the restaurant that my friend booked and my heart dropped. I heard classical music and saw people wearing suits and dresses. I sat down and even saw complimentary lemon water,” Meghan recalled.

Mortified, she ran to the bathroom and called her sister– begging for a money transfer.

“That was the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me,” Meghan said.

Still, she held it together and returned to meet her roommate at their dining table. Meghan ordered a standard entree and called it a night.

However, her friend kept ordering multiple dishes that neither of them could supposedly afford.

“I thought she was having a mental breakdown in front of me. I’m thinking, ‘She’s broke, are we doing to dine and dash?'” Meghan said.

Because she was so stressed about paying the check, Meghan could not even enjoy the celebratory dinner.

But, nothing angered her more than when the waiter came over. He asked the pair if they’d like to pay together or split the check. The roommate immediately said they would be paying together.

“I thought she was expecting me to pay, but then, she pulls out her card and pays for both her meal and mine,” Meghan said.
