Her Mom Bought Her A Prom Dress And Got Offended When Her Stepmom Purchased One That She Liked Better

“…As soon as we walked in, I saw The Dress,” she said. “It was dark blue with silver accents, it fit me like a glove, and it was only $100.”

“The best part was that I actually felt beautiful in it. Coincidentally, I had $100 of birthday money burning a hole in my pocket, so I bought it.”

“Even though I said she shouldn’t, my stepmother told me she would reimburse me, as she wanted me to spend the $100 on a birthday gift to myself rather than a prom dress.”

This dress wasn’t like her first dress because it was not completely fitted to her body; the fabric flowed over her hips and wasn’t tight, so she felt a lot happier with this choice.

She immediately sent her mom a text filling her in on the fact that her stepmom just bought her a new prom dress.

Her mom didn’t reply back, so she wanted her mom to tell her if she was mad. Her mom insisted she wasn’t, and she figured everything was alright.

Well, she was wrong. Her mom came to pick her up and take her out to dinner for her birthday, and although she really wanted her mom to see her new dress, her mom said she didn’t want to talk about it.

She stayed quiet about her prom dress throughout dinner with her mom, but after dinner, she told her mom she wanted to talk about it since clearly, her mom was angry.

Her mom admitted she was offended that she let her stepmom buy her another dress, and although she pointed out to her mom the anxiety she had about looking good in the original red dress, her mom didn’t want to hear it.

Her mom was deeply upset by this incident, and her mom wanted her to reimburse her for the first dress.

She only went with a second dress because she wanted to look and feel good at her prom, but she was worried that accepting this second dress from her stepmom did make her “disrespectful” to her mom.
