“Our date was at probably the most touristy restaurant in our city because it’s at the top of a really big hotel so the view is great.”
“When we got there we were first seated with a view of the elevator so we asked to move to a better view. The waitress at this table asks us to stand up and pose for pics which we did and then he got on one knee and proposed… in between 2 tables, the ring wasn’t in the box, and the waitress took the pic.”
She admits that maybe she is entitled, but she went over with him how she wanted him to propose.
She even revealed to him that she did not want him to get down on one knee in the middle of a restaurant, yet that’s exactly what he did.
“It was public AF and there wasn’t any romance nor leading up to it,” she said. “He just said will you marry me, nothing else.”
“I am just so disappointed because I expected so much and he got my hopes up for literally 8 years that it would be something grand. He’s my first BF/first anything and after everything we have been through I expected something more heart-felt and with more effort.”
Now, a lot of her boyfriend’s friends work as professional photographers, though he didn’t ask any of them to be there at the proposal to make the moment really memorable.
She’s also greatly upset about the fact that she doesn’t have a single nice photo of the proposal to share on social media to announce her news.
“I went and bought a dress, got my hair and nails done and I feel like I made more of an effort than him,” she continued.
“He for sure could’ve made better arrangements but he kept bragging about how he didn’t even plan for the waitress to take the pics as if it was a good thing.”
She just can’t get over the lack of attention or time that he invested in the proposal itself. Her boyfriend always prides himself on standing out from the crowd, and she can’t believe he would propose to her in such a “meaningless” way.
