So, at that time, she opted to reduce her cannabis oil ingestion by half and cut out magic mushroom ingestion altogether. But, once she returned for a third examination in June of 2020, tests revealed that her cancer had returned.
Thus, she began undergoing chemotherapy again in conjunction with her initial cannabis oil and magic mushroom regiment. Unfortunately, exactly how the patient’s course of treatment impacted her cancer prevalence following June of 2020 is not known by the researchers.
The authors also underscored that this single case study could not confirm the benefits of cannabis oil and psilocybin in cancer treatment.
Nonetheless, the team underscored that this perplexing incidence of remission calls for further research– especially because many patients suffering from cancer are increasingly turning to self-administered cannabis and psychedelics.
“More research, spanning pre-clinical through to observational and randomized controlled trials are warranted to fully elucidate the value of cannabinoids and psychedelics in the treatment of breast cancer and other cancers,” the authors wrote.
