Her Dad Is Letting Her Live Rent-Free In One Of His Apartments, And Now That Her Boyfriend Is Moving In Too, Her Dad Expects Him To Pay Rent But He Doesn’t Think It’s Fair

So, when he found out that her father was only charging him, he was pretty confused. Apparently, he thought that since they had already been splitting rent for the past two years while at college, they had no reason to stop now.

“But, our rent in our college town was one thousand and two hundred dollars, so we were both paying six hundred dollars a month. Our apartment in Chicago is significantly nicer, and he is paying two hundred dollars less a month than when he was in college,” she recalled.

Plus, she is still splitting the cost of utilities, groceries, and date nights with her boyfriend.

Nonetheless, he is still pretty ticked off about her father’s rent arrangement.

So now, she is not sure if her boyfriend is basically failing her father’s “test.” Or, if her boyfriend is right and she should just “suck it up” and pay half since she can afford it.

Do you think her boyfriend is acting a bit entitled? Isn’t four hundred dollars a month still an insanely good deal? What would you do if you were in her shoes?
