Melissa found someone to help her and made the decision to remove her breast implants. She describes it as a decision that saved her life. When her breast implants were taken out, everyone could see that the right breast implant was not clear and translucent as usual. It was dark and brown. As it turns out, her right implant was filled with mold. Yes, mold!

The Breast Implant Cancer Advocates writes that silicone breast implants are prone to mold. If any damage is done to the implant’s seal, bacteria can grow inside of it.
Melissa writes that within hours of having the implants removed, the swelling in her face had gone down, and she looked like her usual self. “I finally felt like me again,” she writes. “Now I am living my best life.”
