However, her father did not take the honest feedback well. Instead, he first brought up how he works to provide for the family and then had the nerve to call her selfish for not wanting to help out the family.
This really got under her skin, rightfully so, and pushed her to fully lose her temper. And in the process, she totally called her dad out.
“I said that he was the selfish one for having so many kids and expecting his eldest to just babysit despite us both having kids ourselves,” she explained.
And after that, her father even tried to say that she and Vel “choose” to care for the children. But she shut that down, too.
Instead, she clarified that she and Vel are basically forced to care for everything and everyone because if they did not, the kids would all end up neglected.
Finally, she also told her father that he needed to “man up” and act like the father everyone had been missing from their household.
Still, he just continued defending his actions and claiming that he was doing his best. Then, he actually accused her of being an ungrateful jerk and even told her to start looking for a new place to live since he was sick of her attitude.
So now, she is totally confused about what to do at home. Moreover, she is questioning if telling her father to stop having children was the wrong way to go about this situation.
Do you think she had a right to stand up to her father or not? If you were in her shoes, how would you feel? What could she possibly do to get herself and her siblings out of this situation?
