Forget Traditional Gingerbread Houses: Charcuterie Chalets Are The New Holiday Hors D’oeuvres Taking Over TikTok

To construct the base of the chalet, Marissa began by laying down one Norwegian crispbread. Then, along the edges of the crispbread, you should stack pretzel rods to create the walls.

But, in between each layer of rods, add some whipped cream cheese to act as glue. You will end up with a log cabin-resembling formation.

The next step is to add one more piece of Norwegian crispbread on top of the pretzel rods– again, gluing it down with the whipped cream cheese. And afterward, you can start to focus on your walls.

For her walls, Marissa added four slices of cheddar cheese– one slice for each wall. But you can really use any kind of cheese that you like best. Plus, she added four prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella sticks in a line on top of the structure before working on her roof.

To make the roof, you can use two more pieces of Norweigan crispbread angled in a triangle shape. And don’t forget to use the whipped cream cheese to secure it in place!

Marrisa opted to decorate her roof using layered and overlapping salami slices. She also used sliced and halved cucumbers on top to act as shingles. How inventive!
