“What’s your Venmo?” asked Julia over text. “I need to charge you like $2.47 for driving you home last night.”
Then, she sent another text, along with an awkward face emoji.
“Also, what’s your roommate’s Venmo? Gas is so pricey…Don’t blame me…!”
Commenters sounded off on Peter’s video. It seems that although people are struggling with gas prices, they would rather do something absurd than ask someone for less than $3 in this scenario.
“My life could rely on that $2.47, and I’d still be too embarrassed to really ask someone for that amount back,” commented one TikTok user.
“I truly would rather have my checking account go into overdraft than ask someone for $2.47,” commented another user.
Although Peter has not updated his followers on his interactions with Julia, it’s definitely safe to say that things got pretty awkward.
It makes one wonder, what would you do in that situation? Was Julia being excessive? Should Peter just pay the $2.47?
