However, her friend wasn’t having it and told her to “let go” of his nephew’s mistake. He also said that his nephew’s father was a very important person, suggesting he could have an influence over her career.
She got fed up and told her friend that she only did what was required of her and that there was no more to say on the subject. Finally, she told him his nephew didn’t deserve special treatment and hung up the phone.
“I’m pretty sure I did the right thing, but a few colleagues have told me I could have taken things a bit more easily and let it go,” she added.
However, she feels that if she didn’t make her friend’s nephew do the extra work, she could’ve gotten in trouble herself.
