This activity is suitable for smaller groups of kids. It involves placing a large piece of poster board with various sight words written on it in the middle of the floor.
The game has a similar component to musical chairs since the kids are required to walk around while the music is playing and stop when the music stops.
After the music pauses, the kids must pick a word to read aloud. Then, they need to do orthographic mapping using mini erasers underneath their selected word to connect the sounds of the word to its spelling.
When each of the students has completed their words, Kayla goes around the circle and has them say what their word is and how many sounds it makes.
