Young Adults In The U.S. Were Found To Be Less Likely To Live At Home With Their Parents Than Young Adults In Much Of Europe

This was reflected in the 2021 data, with 36% of U.S. young men living at home; meanwhile, 30% of young women still lived with their parents.

And this gender difference was also observed in each European country that was studied.

Now, some European countries– such as Denmark and Ireland– had a comparable gender difference to the U.S. But among the 16 European countries studied, the percentage of young men living at home with their parents was over 10 points higher than the percentage of young women.
