Although she was surprised by this gesture, she was honest with him and told him that she probably would never forgive him for what he did to her all those years. And even though she has been working with a therapist herself, his actions still impact her life greatly.
He was frustrated with her response, claiming that he was different now and that she should just accept his apology and move on.
“I told him that it wasn’t my fault either that he got abused, but he still took his anger out on me. His own trauma doesn’t justify what he did to me,” she added,
After standing up for herself, he called her bitter and stormed out of the cafe. But while her parents are on her side and think she did the right thing, she is wondering if she should have forgiven him.
