She Bought Her Sister Expensive Jewelry For Her Birthday, But After Her Sister Acted Spoiled And Entitled, She Decided To Return It

It’s so sad when petty and material things cause fights between family members.
One sister got into a nasty fight with her younger sister after she had gifted her an expensive set of jewelry. After their argument, she decided she would return it.
She’s 19-years-old and has two younger sisters. She’s been wanting to move out of her family home and get her own place, so she’s been very careful about spending money.
Although she used to enjoy buying gifts for her siblings, she decided to take a break and only get them gifts for special occasions like birthdays.
Her younger sister’s 18th birthday was a few weeks ago, and although they aren’t as close as they used to be, she still wanted to get her something nice.
Her mom mentioned that her sister wanted a nice Michael Kors jewelry set. She decided to buy the set, which included a pair of earrings, a necklace, and a bracelet.
It was rather expensive, but she was proud of herself for buying her sister a gift she knew she’d like.
However, when she got home from buying the jewelry, her mom asked her to hand over the receipt in case her sister wanted to return it.
“I was kind of confused and hurt,” she remembered.

“It was my gift to her. But, I brushed it off and gave her the receipt.”
One week later, she was getting ready for a job interview with the outlet store company ICI Paris. She needed to look presentable, so she went ahead and borrowed a blazer from her 18-year-old sister’s closet without asking.
She figured the interview wouldn’t take long so her sister wouldn’t mind, despite getting a warning from her mom.
Well, she was wrong. When her sister found out she had taken her blazer, she freaked out.
“My sister had heard my mom and came up to me, saying the most vile things I’ve ever heard,” she said.
Her sister told her she had stretched out the blazer and called her a pig before telling her she’s an “extra life” her family no longer needs in their house. She was on the verge of tears and told her sister she’d pay her back for the blazer.
Later that day, she overheard her sister telling her mom she’d return the expensive Michael Kors jewelry.
Angry at her sister’s behavior, she interrupted their conversation and demanded to have the receipt back so she could return it herself and get a refund.
Her sister brushed her off and said she didn’t want any gifts from her anyway. Her mom started calling her names and told her she was in the wrong. However, she thinks her decision to take back her gift is more than justified.
“I am not going to spend money on someone who disrespects me like that, and definitely not on someone so spoiled and entitled,” she added.
“She clearly didn’t appreciate the gift.”
Should she let her sister keep the jewelry, or is she right to return it after their fight?
