“And she’s not [a jerk] or a brat,” she added. “She’s just a kid who made a mistake. And a kid who is scared of being disliked.”
Looking back on her own middle school years, they were awful. She knows her daughter is going to lose several friends over her shoplifting incident, so she’s wondering if she was wrong for not scolding her quietly.
