He’s Making His Sister Temporarily Rehome One of Her Dogs Because She’s Been Staying At His House, And The Pups Are Wreaking Havoc

This 26-year-old guy has been letting his sister, who is 25, live at his home for nearly a year now.

Apparently, she first moved in with him to get away from a big metropolitan city, and she brought along her two dogs. He already had his own dog as well, so her arrival bumped the pet count up to three in his reportedly “smaller” home.

“I even helped her with not paying rent for a majority of the time and walked her dogs for her with my dogs,” he recalled.

Still, ever since his sister moved in, her dogs have been a disaster.

They have messed up his backyard, peed on his backyard furniture, and have caused some problems with his neighbors. Even worse, the pups have gone to the bathroom in his bedroom!

According to him, the dogs are a big hassle to take outside, too.

His sister has helped him out with some things, like food, and more recently, she’s been there for him after he broke his leg.

“But I am so done with having the three dogs here,” he admitted.

That’s why he just decided to tell his sister that she had two months to temporarily rehome one of the pups.

After he did that, his mom sided with his sister and said that she shouldn’t need to appease that request. But, everyone else he’s confided in about the situation has understood his perspective and agrees that having three dogs is too much– especially given the size of his house.

Still, the vibes in his home are now just weird since his sister is clearly upset, and both of them have been super quiet. He also sort of feels like a jerk.

“And I love her to death, but I also feel like this may help her grow,” he said.

This is mainly because his sister now has three different options. She could move back into the city, try to get her own place, or just rehome the dog until she is able to get her own place.

“She also does not want roommates but does not make enough to live on her own. So, it’s been tough, but I think I am going to stick to my decision,” he vented.

He still feels pretty guilty, though, which is why he’s been left wondering whether asking his sister to rehome one of the dogs was justified or not.

Do you think he’s being too harsh? Or is he already being generous by housing his sister and giving her two months to find a temporary home for her dog? What would you have done in this situation?
