The National Guard arrived around 3:19 pm and was able to transfer Dominic to the hospital safely.
As traumatizing as Dominic’s incident and injury were, he’s not letting it stop him from returning to skiing once he’s all healed up.
“I’ve been sitting in a hospital bed the past 7 days thinking about all the things I could have done differently,” Dominic wrote in a post on Instagram.
“The endless questions are really mentally straining. That being said, I’m ready for the long, challenging road ahead and am incredibly grateful for all the support I’ve received.”
