After leaving the National Guard, Leigh Ann became a police officer but eventually returned to the National Guard. She served in Afghanistan in 2014, where she was promoted to sergeant first class.

Leigh Ann’s heroic actions are extremely admirable. Because of what she did, numerous American soldiers were saved and could continue their service. She’s led a life of service to her country, and she’ll always be remembered for the lives she saved.
