Can you imagine if that person was someone you hoped you could trust, like your apartment’s maintenance worker?
One woman recently went viral on TikTok after she recorded herself trying to free her cat from behind a wall her apartment’s maintenance man carelessly put up, placing her cat in danger.
Jay (@myworld.wejustliveinit) lived in an apartment complex with her two cats. Earlier this month, maintenance workers in her complex were in her apartment to patch up a wall in her kitchen.
When she returned to her unit after the workers had left, she began to hear little meows from behind the newly patched walls. That’s when she realized the maintenance workers had carelessly trapped one of her beloved kitties, who she calls ‘Taytay,’ behind the new wall.
Jay tried calling her apartment’s emergency maintenance number, but no one answered, so she called 911 for assistance. She recorded herself on the phone while trying to get TayTay out from behind the wall and posted the video on TikTok.
Jay was able to bust a small hole through the patched wall, which she wrote was very difficult in the text of her video, as it felt like trying to break down bricks.
“He’s sticking his hand out!” says an exasperated Jay as Taytay can be seen poking his little paw through the hole in the wall.
The video is incredibly distressing as viewers can hear the panic in Jay’s voice and the tiny, muffled ‘meows’ coming from behind the wall.
