In the area where the artifact was found, several battles between the Spanish and English fleets occurred.

The battles took place during the 15th to 17th centuries, so they may be able to help researchers trace back the origins of the helmet.

“Not far from the place of discovery, cannons belonging to boats of the same period have already been identified. Future investigations will be carried out to verify whether there is a correlation between the episodes,” Emma said.
