The Real Pirates Of The Caribbean Began Prowling The Seas During The Late Fifteenth Century, Looting Valuables From Aztec, Maya, And Incan Civilizations

Black Bart was known for his leadership and navigation skills. He was considered the most successful pirate of his time and went down fighting against the British Navy.

Then, there was Anne Bonny, a female pirate who fought alongside her husband, Captain John “Callico Jack” Rackham.

Next is Sir Henry Morgan, the leader of a Jamaican fleet who launched attacks on 400 ships during his time as a pirate.

Finally, Blackbeard had a reputation for his dramatic strikes on ships, placing burning ropes on his head like a halo to give himself a more ominous appearance.

As Britain rose to power, piracy came to an end. In 1670, the British Royal Navy had only two ships in the Caribbean, but by 1718, over 124 of them sailed the seas.

The Navy hunted down pirates and served justice to those they caught. After the Treaty of Paris was signed in 1856, pirates were gone for good.
