She’s Lucky To Be Alive After Suffering From Bleeding In Her Brain, But Now This Recent College Grad Has To Undergo Brain Surgery

“Morgan is a strong, brilliant, tenacious fighter who has been living with AVM since discovering her condition several years ago.”

AVM, also known as arteriovenous malformation, is a cluster of abnormal blood vessels that connect to veins and arteries in the spine or brain.

These abnormal blood vessels end up causing problems with oxygen and blood flow, and side effects of AVM include seizures and headaches.

Sometimes, the abnormal blood vessels can rupture, like in Morgan’s case. When this happens, it can cause strokes, brain bleeds, and brain damage.

Morgan’s doctors say she is lucky to be alive, and she is currently waiting to have brain surgery so that hopefully 70% of the AVM can be removed.

The damage done to Morgan’s brain already will take more than a year for her to recover from, and her family is hoping there has not been extensive damage already done to that part of her brain.

“Morgan is able to whisper words like “yes”, “no”, and “Mom”,” Galen explained in the most recent update on Morgan.

“She’s able to respond with facial movements and gestures that let us know she’s fighting hard, but we see the pain in her eyes and we know it’s a long road.”

If you would like to donate to help cover the costs of Morgan’s brain surgery and medical expenses, you can do so here.
