“Officer McGrath learned Olivia was looking for her engagement ring that she only had for a month,” a Facebook post from the Rye, New Hampshire Police Department said.
While Olivia had been in the water, her engagement ring somehow managed to slip off of her ring finger and into the ocean.
Olivia was intensely searching the beach, hoping that she would miraculously be able to recover her ring.
Olivia didn’t have any luck that day, and so Officer McGrath decided he was going to do something to try to help.
“That evening Officer McGrath, who has been metal detecting for years, went back out after 9:30 pm at low tide and checked the area using his metal detector,” the Rye, New Hampshire Police Department continued.
It took Officer McGrath approximately an hour before he found Olivia’s engagement ring!
