He’s Thinking Of Breaking Up With His Girlfriend So She Can Continue Living Her Extremely Wealthy Lifestyle

“Her father refuses to see my face on Facetime and constantly tries to convince my girlfriend to marry someone of their cultural background and race,” the man explained.

“Her mother is more accepting, but still prefers that my girlfriend stays with someone who speaks their language and is from their culture.”

The cultural differences are not their only obstacle, though. Familial wealth is also dampening their love story.

“Her parents come from an extremely high net-worth family– think eight to nine figures. If she decides to marry me– someone of a middle-class level in the United States– her parents have told her she would be cut off financially,” the man said.

Even more, in her family’s culture, the man is expected to pay her parents a dowry. The dowry would be a steep fifty-thousand dollars for this man who admits to making a modest living. Even still, the man is not worried. He simply values his girlfriend’s happiness over everything.

“I personally do not care about the financial burden since I would give up a lot more to be with her forever,” the man continued.

“But, I feel like this is selfish of me as she will have to give up everything.”

If his girlfriend were to marry him, she would lose an inheritance worth more than seven figures, various international properties, and most likely her relationship with her parents.

The man feels like this decision would take away her life of financial security and, instead, “give her a life of financial hardships and burdens.”

He also sees why such a wealthy family would be nervous about a middle-class man marrying into the family.
