She’s Online Dating A Man In Nigeria, But She’s Not Sure If This Is A Scam Or Not

She knows so much about him at this point in time, and over their video calls, she has gotten to see what his house is like and what the area he lives in is like too.

She feels so attached to him now. This man is highly educated and he also speaks English far better than she even does.

“I have a doctorate in engineering if that tells you anything,” she said. “I asked a long time ago how he found me because I had my settings on the dating app to local singles only.”

“He told me his settings were different, and he had been looking for someone outside his country because his interests could not be related to the typical Nigerian girl: anime, video games, Family Guy, etc.”

“I feel confident he is genuine in all he says. He has never asked anything of me and often encourages me to eat well and get enough sleep. We can talk and never run out of subjects. It feels right.”

She is convinced that what she has with this man is real, however, she is a bit worried about him, since Nigeria does have a whole romance scam industry.

Several days ago, she did reveal to her parents that’s she’s in an online relationship with this man, and they freaked out in a way that left her reeling.

“I understand their fears are real,” she continued. “Many lonely and vulnerable women have been conned, being left financially ruined with devastated hearts.”

This man has never once asked her for money, which has her feeling like she’s probably in the clear.
