“Every time he sees a mention of a British thing, “Co.uk” on a website or reads the word “blimey” he starts reading it in British, although his accent is normally a version of a generic ESL speak, just like mine,” she said.
“Like I know it seems very small and a stupid thing to get mad at, but it’s just so weird and “posh” and whatever.”
Every single time her boyfriend starts doing this, it makes her uncomfortable, and when they spend time with her parents he still continues to nonstop pretend to be British.
She truly is in love with her boyfriend, but this pretending to be British thing is out of control while driving her absolutely crazy.
She’s not sure how she can go about getting her boyfriend to knock it off. Any advice for her?
