“I said everything is going well, the driver is so funny and friendly. I could hear how angry/disappointed my bf was and he just said something like “okay, I am so disappointed at you” and then he immediately ended the call.”
For the remainder of the day, her boyfriend wouldn’t speak to her. She texted him yesterday evening to say she loves him and to tell him “good night” but he sent her a terse reply responding only to the good night part.
She’s floored by her boyfriend’s behavior since she’s no stranger to world travel, and what she did in booking a trip through a rideshare app isn’t irresponsible in the least.
She suspects there’s a bigger issue at play here than the carpooling trip, and that perhaps her boyfriend is just extremely controlling and can’t deal with her disagreeing with him over the trip.
How should she handle this situation?
